The Bouquet Preservation Process
Prescheduled flowers or a last minute text, (wedding planned for months to roses with a 'Will you be my Girlfriend' kind of flexibility); Get the flowers to me.
The optimal is within 3-5 days of the event, (Ship from anywhere with my packing instructions; bouquet pickup possible in Asheville/WNC area), but I've taken in very tired flowers and made a beautiful piece, so enjoy them and pass them on when you are ready.
I will immediately press them, some whole and some deconstructed. Three weeks later I will un-press and create a collage that represents the spirit and visual structure of the fresh bouquet arrangement from the photo you provide. I will photograph it for future reproduction if you wish (professionally printed notecards are popular and can be ordered at a special value for you to write thank you notes), then seal the piece to remove the oxygen (a color fader). The final art will need to be framed by you (framing by artist can be arranged by request).
Many flowers and greens hold their color for many years, while others don’t. Most white flowers come out of the preess with the delicate beige of age, like old paper,. Many greens also brown out.
There may be changes in the pressed flowers from the fresh, always pleasing in their own beauty never the less.
The contract you will be asked to sign will state that you understand and accept the uncertainties and unknowns.
Flowers to be treasured are not always predictable like wedding bouquets. I hold space for unpredictable flowers such as births and memorials, as well as schedule the predictable ones. We can work together to schedule local pick up or delivery/shipping.

Original Art: 10"x13"
Final Collage: 11"x14" : Original Art is Press Sealed between Gatorboard and UV Acrylic with tape sealed edges to prohibit oxygen from diminishing colors.
The piece must be framed upon receipt by you, in a frame and mat of your choosing. The frame will further enhance the seal.
Price: $400.00
If not paid in full:
50% Deposit due at booking
50% Remainder is due prior to delivery or shipping of pressed artwork.
Shipping to/from (UPS packing, shipping, insuring is suggested) is not included ;typically approximately $35.
A final contract will be issued when scheduling, along with an Information sheet. Payable in advance; no returns.
Final art to be delivered / shipped within 2 months.
An item may be included in the collage, such as a ribbon, a picture, a card. I reserve the right to crop as inspired, unless you indicate otherwise.
When available, please provide a photograph of the flowers in their original fresh bouquet as inspiration for final collage. The bouquet will be photographed by me upon arrival, but often that stage is not ideal.
A quality photograph of the finished art before sealing will be provided after client receipt of the art. The photograph could be reproduced in notecards at the artist wholesale price, a lovely touch for notes.
All photographs are the property of McChesneyArt and may be used for marketing PetalPassages Bouquet Preservation unless you indicate otherwise. The photographs will not be used by the artist in any other way.
Some flowers will remain unused in the collage; they can be returned to you if you wish. Otherwise they will become the property of the artist.
Gift Certificates are handcrafted and personalized upon order, a thoughtful gift with no expiration date.
